The World Online University will be launched in Ukraine: what can be studied there

50 online courses from the world’s leading universities will be available on Prometheus within three years. It will be possible to go through them for free, they will be available in Ukrainian.

According to the co-founder of Prometheus educational courses, Ivan Prymachenko, the project includes programs from Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Michigan, Duke, Johns Hopkins, Duke, Illinois, and the University of California.

The first 10 courses that are already available for registration:

  • “CS50: Introduction to Artificial Intelligence with Python” from Harvard University;
  • “Programming for Everyone: Python Basics” from the University of Michigan;
  • “Python: Data Structures” from the University of Michigan;
  • “Basics of Programming with HTML, CSS and JavaScript” from Duke University;
  • “Java Programming: Software” from Duke University;
  • “Digital Media and Fundamentals of Marketing” from the University of Illinois;
  • “Digital Media and Marketing Strategies” from the University of Illinois;
  • “Fundamentals of corporate finance” from the University of Illinois;
  • “Fundamentals of Project Management” from the University of California, Irvine;
  • “Psychological First Aid” from Johns Hopkins University.

“To say that this is unprecedented is to say nothing. I do not know of any other example when the world’s top universities would allow the mass translation and placement of their best courses in free access. And this is another powerful signal of support for Ukraine by the world.” – says Ivan Primachenko.

Prometheus, the largest educational platform of Ukraine, implements this project with the support of the US Embassy in Ukraine and in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

“This project will expand the educational boundaries for Ukrainians. The global online covers the most relevant topics to provide Ukrainians with the most up-to-date knowledge – from artificial intelligence to psychological first aid, from Python programming to project management.” – said the Minister of Education Oksen Lisovyi.

As a reminder, Ukrainians will be given 2,500 scholarships for IT and digital marketing training.
