In Ukraine, more than 8,000 churches still belong to the Moscow Patriarchate. The absolute majority of them hide it in their names.

“Opendatabot” reports that the largest number of UOC MP churches are in Donetsk region.

During the full-scale invasion, 589 Ukrainian religious communities transferred to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. Most often, Ukrainians left the ranks of the Moscow Patriarchate in Kyiv Oblast (138), Khmelnytskyi Oblast (125) and Vinnytsia Oblast (67).

At the same time, no such transitions were recorded in Dnipropetrovsk region, Kharkiv region, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk region, and Luhansk region.

At the same time, the number of churches that continue to belong to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) is more than 8,000. Despite the requirement of the law, 99% of them do not show their affiliation to the patriarchy in their name.

Only 59 religious institutions were forced to indicate their connection with Russia.

The largest number of UOC churches are still in Donetsk region (683), Vinnytsia region (534), Dnipropetrovsk region (527), Khmelnytskyi region (506) and Transcarpathia (490). Lviv Oblast and Ivano-Frankiv Oblast have the fewest (18 each).

We will remind you that on December 27, 2022, the Constitutional Court recognized the law according to which the UOC MP must indicate its affiliation with Russia in a name that corresponds to the Constitution.
