The Kyiv Zoo told the story of the rescue of a pair of cat lemurs from Kherson.

During another Russian shelling, the local zoo was destroyed, during which the lemur Adam received a contusion, burns and injuries.

Thanks to volunteers from the Wild Animal Rescue Center, the injured lemur was transported to Kyiv.

In March 2023, Adam was transferred to the Kyiv Zoo for treatment and rehabilitation. And then he was reunited with his beloved.

“The animal was on the mend, but we saw that the lemur was sad and longing. And the reason for his longing became clear six months later, when volunteer Yana responded to the news about Adam. She, as it turned out, found his beloved friend from Kherson, Julia, and brought her to Kyiv Zoo.

The joy of the reunited couple knew no bounds. At the same time, all the participants in the happy story were happy – both lemurs and people.”– say zoo employees.

Now the animals in love got a new big home and an exotic neighbor – an Indian porcupine named Druid, who was also rescued earlier.

In addition to the new couple, the metropolitan zoo is home to a large family of 19 feline lemurs, 5 of which are this year’s offspring.

After Adam’s treatment, the volunteer found his beloved from Kherson and reunited the couple!

Adam and Julia are soon to be introduced to a large Lemurian family.

Currently, the Kherson lemurs live in the winter hall of “Animal Islands”.

We will remind you that earlier the Kyiv Zoo showed how the Bayraktar lemur and other “war cubs” grew up.

Also, an unusual family of duck and goose lovers was formed in the menagerie.
