A nationwide quarantine due to the level of incidence of influenza and SARS will not be announced at the level of the entire country – only local restrictions at the regional levels are possible.
This was stated by Deputy Minister of Health, Chief State Sanitary Doctor Ihor Kuzin in an online interview with UNICEF medical expert Kateryna Bulavinova.
“A nationwide quarantine or restrictive measures are not foreseen, because we see that the course of this episeason is relatively calm. But local measures will still be adopted depending on the region and how the situation will develop.” – said the chief medical officer.
According to him, in order to break the chain of transmission of the disease, the winter holidays in schools can be extended or the mandatory use of masks when traveling by transport can be introduced.

The decision to introduce local anti-epidemic restrictions will be made only if the epidemic level in the region is exceeded.
The implementation of nationwide quarantine can potentially happen only if the epidemic threshold of influenza and SARS is exceeded in most regions.
Kuzin says that currently the epidemic threshold of influenza and SARS has been exceeded only in the Chernivtsi region. In the Rivne region, they decided to apply preventive measures: in order to prevent the epidemic threshold from being exceeded, the winter holidays for children were extended.
We will remind, Kuzin said that in three regions of Ukraine quarantine may be introduced due to COVID-19.
