In 2030, the American space agency NASA will launch a new space mission that will investigate the sources of ultraviolet light in the universe.
For this, the agency will launch a new UVEX (UltraViolet EXplorer) telescope into space, according to NASA’s website.
UVEX is planned to be launched as part of the Astrophysics Medium-Class Explorer mission.
The new telescope is expected to be able to point to sources of ultraviolet light in the universe, capturing explosions that follow bursts of gravitational waves caused by merging neutron stars.

The telescope will also study star explosions.
“It will help to better understand the nature of both nearby and distant galaxies, as well as monitor dynamic events in our changing universe,” said NASA employee Nicola Fox.
It is noted that the ultraviolet studies of the UVEX telescope will complement the data of other missions that are conducted and will be conducted in this decade.
In particular, it is about the Euclid mission and research of NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope, which NASA will launch by May 2027.
