On March 27, on International Theater Day, the fifth All-Ukrainian theater festival-award GRA announced the longlist of nominees. Read UP.Kultura in Telegram This year, the expert council allowed 134 plays to be evaluated for participation in the award. From them, 35 plays were selected for the longlist, which will claim the award in seven nominations. As for the cities to which the collectives that presented performances from the longlist belong, Kyiv is the leader here – 16 performances from the capital were submitted for the award. Next comes Lviv with 8 performances and Kharkiv with 4. Such cities as Dnipro, Ivano-Frankivsk, Odesa, Kherson, Poltava, Kryvyi Rih and Rivne are represented in the long list of GRY by one performance. At the second stage of the GRY, the expert council will watch live performances-nominees from the longlist and form a shortlist, which will include 14 of them. It is held on a competitive basis once a year based on the results of the previous calendar year. Any professional theater group of any form of ownership (state, communal, private) can take part in it. Last year, the award festival was not held due to the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia.
