Architectural online publication ArchDaily named the winners of the annual award Building of the Year Awards (“Building of the Year”). Kyiv bookstore Readellion was chosen as the best project in the category Interior Architecture.

The bookstore announced this on social networks.

The design for the bookstore was developed by an architectural bureau prototype. The project competed with 4 participants in the final of the competition: the LES event space in Berlin, the art space in Madrid, the Baftar dermatology clinic in Tehran and the 10K House apartments in Madrid.

It was important for the bookstore to find specialists who could work with a small space and budget. Also, the main emphasis was placed on the modularity of the space, because the assortment was constantly changing.

““Prototype” solved this problem perfectly, and all the shelves in our store cling to the guides, so we can change the number, types of shelves and their placement at any time. And the large metal island in the center can be lifted with a winch and make room for more people, for example when an event is held“, the co-founder said.

A physical bookstore with an author’s interior has opened August 20, 2023 year at the address Voznesenskyi uzviz, 23. It mostly sells foreign publications about creative industries, as well as Ukrainian self-published and niche publications.
