In Copenhagen, the Ukrainian writer and poet Kateryna Kalytko read her own interpretation of the prayer “Our Father” about the atrocities of the Russians.

Her performance took place at the “Ukrainian House” in Denmark in the presence of the Danish King Frederik X at an event dedicated to the anniversary of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine.

“In the parish church of Copenhagen – Holmen – a liturgy for Ukraine was held, in which the King of Denmark Frederik X took part, as well as the speaker of the parliament and a number of ministers. I had an honorable duty and an experience like no other: I read the raisin “Father” at the ceremony our”, in Ukrainian and with a Danish translation“, said Kateryna.

The newest version of the prayer talks about the atrocities committed by Russian soldiers against Ukrainian civilians.

Here is part of a prayer by Kalytko:

Give us the dailies
names and surnames,
let them write them on the tablets,
turn our heads
our faces
our recognizable tattoos.

And do not forgive us anything if you want –
because we do not forgive the guilty,
we stand at your judgment
schoolchildren at the blackboard,
unfolding souls like diaries,
thickly written with bloody paste –
remarks for behavior.

The Danish version was announced by the General Secretary of the Danish Council of Churches, Emil Hilton Saggau.

“These days, for the first time in Copenhagen, a whole series of poems and texts by Ukrainian authors, specially translated for the event “Voices of dignity: poetry and music from Ukraine”, will be heard in Danish.

In the conditions of Russian aggression, Ukrainian authors find a voice to speak about the unspeakable, and Danish partners strengthen the voice of Ukraine in this unjust war“, – noted the co-founder of the “Ukrainian House” in Denmark, Nataliya Popovych.

Ukrainians all over the world are reminded of the war in Ukraine. For example, in Portugal, displaced persons go to rallies every week and resist Russian propaganda inside the country.
