In support of Ukraine, on February 24, 2024 – the second anniversary of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation – the Latvian Klisters Mins is going to run 100 kilometers without food and practically without clothes.

In this way, the man wants to encourage people to donate to drones for Ukraine, writes tv3.lv.

According to Means, such an idea came to him about six months ago. Initially, he planned to run the distance as “training for himself”. However, later he decided to overcome the ultramarathon in order to support Ukraine.

The man aims to run 100 kilometers from the village of Ragatiems to the village of Kolka without food and clothes, after which he plans to swim in the Baltic Sea.

How long it will take is difficult to predict, because everything depends on the weather.

The weather promises to be rainy and windy. Plus, I don’t plan to eat, so I’m currently taking various types of vitamins. Refusal of food, length of distance, cold and heart rate are the most difficult factors”– says Means.

The man adds: he had never covered an ultramarathon distance before, only a marathon. The best Latvian ultramarathoners helped him compile the training program.

I get up around 5:30 in the morning, then I have a 10-kilometer training session, then parallel bars training.” he says.

The man also meditates, takes ice baths, cold showers.

The race will be accompanied by medical staff. The start of the ultramarathon is at 17:00.

As Clijsters Means told “UP. Life”, he has many friends from Ukraine who are currently fighting on the front lines. He trained for 6 months, but decided not to eat and run practically naked, in order to support Ukrainian soldiers, who sometimes do not have the opportunity to eat and freeze in the trenches in winter.

According to plans, the ultramarathon will last approximately 16 hours. During the race, I will be raising funds for drones. Anyone can follow my marathon on my Meta profile. I learned that in this way I could also set a world record, because no one ran an ultramarathon in winter almost naked and without food. And at the finish I will have a swim in the Baltic Sea”says the runner.

Clijsters Means calls on people to support his mission: both with donations and with ordinary words. He says it will “strengthen his thoughts and give him strength.”

I am fully aware that I may die during this race, but I am ready to sacrifice my life for it.”he emphasizes.
