Ukrainian polar explorers from the “Akademik Vernadskyi” station shared incredible photos of icebergs that happened to them on the way to the Polish Antarctic station “Artstovskyi”.
Polarists suggest that the icebergs may have broken off from the huge A23a iceberg with an area of 4,000 square kilometers, the National Antarctic Science Center reports.
““Noosphere” reached King George Island in the Antarctic, where the Polish Antarctic Station “Artstowski” is located. Kyiv time, it happened at night on December 6. This is already the third Antarctic season “Noosphere” under a blue-yellow flag“, says the post of the polar explorers.
The ship’s journey from Cape Town to King George was 4,125 miles (6,638 km) and took 19 days.

Polar scientists suggest that they may have broken off from the huge iceberg A23a with an area of 4,000 square kilometers, which just passed the northern edge of the Antarctic Peninsula in November of this year.

On December 11, it is planned to send the ship back to the “Akademik Vernadskyi” station.
