From September 2024, Ukrainian immigrant children in Poland will be required to attend local schools. It is expected that the innovation will affect 50-60 thousand schoolchildren.
This was reported by the Deputy Minister of National Education of Poland, Joanna Mucha, writes Polska Agencja Prasowa.
According to her, compulsory education of Ukrainian children in Polish schools was discussed with the Ukrainian side.
“The ministers who met with us are very interested in this obligation being introduced in Poland. They offer cooperation. We will definitely take advantage of such an offer. Most of this plan is ready. We are waiting for the provisions of the law.”said Mucha.
She also noted that the number of children who are in Poland and do not study in local educational institutions is smaller than previously thought. It reaches 50-60 thousand.
By information Radio Svoboda, special Ukrainian language lessons will be introduced for Ukrainian children in Polish schools. To do this, they plan to hire teachers from Ukraine, for whom the procedure for nostrification of diplomas will be simplified.
Also, Ukrainian children will be taught European integration against the background of Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.
