The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine plans to include drone control in the school curriculum.

The goal of such changes is that each student has the basic skills and can choose a military or civilian specialty in the control, production, design or modernization of drones.

“With our partners, we launched such a project to provide and train teachers of “Defense of Ukraine” with FPV UAV drones. What’s more, several schools received drones, and school representatives took a two-day course from a military instructor and learned the basics of using this modern technology,” – says Major General Oleksandr Nesterenko.

As a reminder, since 2020, the name of the subject in Ukrainian schools has been changed from “Defense of the Fatherland”, which is mandatory in grades 10-11, to “Defence of Ukraine”.

After the start of a full-scale war, the meaning of this item was rethought. First of all, they strengthened the military-patriotic component and supplemented the program with information about the modern Russian-Ukrainian war and its heroes.

The topics of the sections on fire training, first aid and civil defense were also revised and supplemented. In addition, the MES planned to add the study of mine safety as a separate block.
