With the onset of cold weather, border guards record an increase in the number of wild animals that roam the Carpathian forests and can be dangerous.

As the State Border Service of Ukraine reports, already in the first week of winter, servicemen of the mountain units came across not only border violators, but also “knee-legged violators of the winter sleep regime.”

They used their weapons several times to scare off the wild bears with warning shots upwards.

Border guards often encounter wild cats. Yes, in just one day on December 6, their camera traps caught a lynx twice.

“We once again warn lovers of extreme trips and border violators that in addition to floods, snow, and frost, in the border forests you can also meet wild animals that can pose a threat to human life and health.” – said in the message of the DPSU.

We will remind you that a lynx was caught by a camera trap in the Chernobyl reserve.
