Ukrainians ask to give the title of Hero to the combat medic who died in Luhansk Region: petition

Ukrainians created a petition with a request to grant the title of Hero of Ukraine to combat medic Maria Vlasyuk, who died in the spring of 2022. Maria Vlasiuk served as part of the 80th ODShb medical company of the evacuation department. The girl died in Luhansk region, saving the lives of soldiers. The petition was published by Ivan Vlasyuk, the brother of the deceased, on the president’s website on February 6 – you can sign it at the link. Paramedic Yulia Paevska (Tyra) already supported the application for the title of Hero of Ukraine for the military. Maria Vlasyuk died in May 2022 in Luhansk region. I knew Maryka well. And I will not ask for an unworthy person, you you know me. Sign the petition to grant Mariyka the title of Hero of Ukraine. It will be fair,” Tyra wrote. Paevska added that many heroes have not yet been honored by the state, and turned to the Office of the President of Ukraine and Volodymyr Zelenskyi. “I’m asking you to support the petition to grant our Mariyka Vlasyuk the title of Hero of Ukraine! We need 25,000 signatures. It’s a lot, but we can do it! In this way, we want to pay tribute to our angel, who saved hundreds of lives, but did not save her own,” – wrote Maria’s brother. She graduated from the Rivne basic medical college, worked in the city hospital as an X-ray laboratory technician for computer tomography. In 2015, the girl decided to devote herself to military service, and in 2017 she went to serve under a contract in the 80th separate airborne assault brigade. She attended medical training courses, a young fighter course at the “Desna” center, attended and served as a paramedic in the reception-sorting and evacuation department. “In October 2018, there was a vacancy for a military medic in the Donetsk direction. The first rotation in the east lasted for seven months: Mariupol, Berdyansk, Novoazovsk, Shyrokyne. Together with the driver, they picked up the wounded on the front line and quickly took them to the hospital. After the rotation, I moved to another brigade of the battalion,” says the defender’s brother. Then Maria taught civilian medicine, and in 2020 she again returned to the east of Ukraine, where she encountered a full-scale war. Even during Maria’s service in April 2022, President Zelensky awarded the medic with the Order “For Courage” of the 3rd degree. Maria died on May 24 near Bilogorivka in the Luhansk region, saving the lives of her brothers. The girl was posthumously awarded the Order “For Courage” of the 2nd degree. We will remind you that earlier Ukrainians supported a petition to grant the title of Heroes to Ukrainian saboteurs. These are fighters with the callsigns “Nepiypyvo”, “Svyatosha”, “Apollon” and “Tarasii”, who performed combat missions behind enemy lines and died in the Bryansk region.
