The Ukrainian Catholic University created a scholarship fund in honor of the fallen hero of Ukraine Dmytro Kotsyubail with the nickname “Da Vinci”. The initiator of the fund was the bride of a military serviceman, Alina Mykhaylova, the UCU reports. Dmytro Kotsyubailo is a Ukrainian volunteer, commander of the 1st OMB “Wolves Da Vinci” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a participant in the Russian-Ukrainian war since 2014. At the beginning of December 2021, “da Vinci” received the highest state award – the title of Hero of Ukraine for the personal courage shown in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. He became the first volunteer who received such a title during his lifetime. The man died on March 7 near Bakhmut. While performing tasks, a mortar mine exploded near him, and one of the fragments hit him in the neck. The man was 27 years old.
