Victory of young composers.  The laureates of the Lev Revutsky award were named

On January 30, the State Agency for Arts announced the laureates of the Lev Revutsky Prize for Composers. This year’s winners were Yuriy Pikush and Fotuyma’s novel.

This was reported by the press service of the State Arts Council.

Voting was conducted in an open format, so the award committee selected the candidates with the highest number of votes in the two nominations.

Yuriy Pikush won the nomination “Composer creativity” for works: “Concerto for violin and orchestra”; “Protean” for flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, harp and piano; “Be a Cycle” for flute, violin, double bass and piano.

Roman Fotuyma won in the nomination “Concert and performing arts” for concert programs: “Crossing the Darkness: Contemporary Ukrainian Chamber Music for Saxophone and Piano”, “Sounds of Ukraine and America”, “UNA VOCE: Ukrainian Music for Solo Saxophone”.

In 2023, the award winners were announced Renatu Sokachyk and Natalia Kozhushko-Maksimiv.

About the composer’s prize

Lev Revutsky Prize – a state prize awarded annually to young composers and performers (under 35 years of age) in the fields of composer creativity and concert performance art.

As noted by the State Arts Council, authors nominate completed musical works and composer programs for the award. They must have been created within the last three years. The amount of the award is 20 thousand hryvnias.
