A warmer October than usual is expected in Ukraine.
The average monthly air temperature in the country in the second autumn month will be 12-15°С, and in the west – 12-13°С, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences in the field of meteorology Vazira Martazinova said in the press center of Ukrinform.
According to her, the average monthly temperature in October is normal – about 8°C. This year it will be higher than last year.
“In particular, in the west of Ukraine, the air temperature will be 2-4°C higher than normal and will be 12-13°C. In the rest of the country, the temperature will be even higher – about 12-15°C.”says the meteorologist.

Vazira Martazinova also noted that the most precipitation is expected in Chernihiv, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, Vinnytsia, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia and Chernivtsi regions. According to forecasts, precipitation there will be 120-150% of the monthly norm, which is 40-50 mm.
At the same time, the weather will be dry in Sumy Oblast, Poltava Oblast and Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
According to the expert, November as a whole will also be warmer than last year. However, the first snow is expected in the last month of autumn, which will melt quickly.
We will remind you that on September 23, 2023, a record of average daily air temperature was recorded in Kyiv. On this day, the average daily air temperature in the capital turned out to be the highest for the time of observations for this day and amounted to +20.6°С, which exceeded the previous record of 1927 by 0.2°С, and the climatic norm – by 7.1°С .
The night in the capital on August 6 turned out to be the warmest since 2010.
