Where do magnolias and cherry blossoms bloom? Locations with flowering trees in different cities

Trees began to bloom in Ukrainian cities in April

April usually marks the beginning of the flowering season in Ukraine.

The specific period depends on the weather and the region, but this year you can already see cherry blossoms and magnolias blooming in city gardens and parks.

“UP. Life“ collected locations in some Ukrainian cities where you can find flowering.

Kyiv

The first cherry blossoms in Kyiv this year blossomed in the Dnipro and Desnyan districts. However, you can admire flowering trees in all districts of Kyiv. IN Department of Environmental Protection and Adaptation to Climate Change KMDA they tellthat this period will last about two weeks.

Japanese cherries grow in Botanical Garden named after Academician Fomin and National Botanical Garden named after M. M. Hryshko. In the botanic garden named after Grishka will bloom and lilac – about 1.5 thousand bushes of 21 species grow there. In addition, cherry blossoms were planted in parks and squares of the capital, for example:

in the Dnipro district:

• on Verkhovna Rada Boulevard.

In the Desnyan district:

• in Kyoto Park

In Darnytsia district:

• in the Park of Partizanska Slava.

In the Shevchenkiv district:

• in Syretsky Park;
• on Volodymyrska Hill;
• in the park near the Golden Gate.

In the Pechersk district:

• in Navodnytsky Park;
• in the park near the Ivan Franko Theater.

In the Podilsky district:

• in Kurenivsky Park;
• in park No. 3 on Kontraktova Square.

In the Obolon district:

• in Natalka Park.

In the Solomyan district:

• in Mykola Zerov Park;
• in the Solomyansky landscape park.

In Svyatoshyn district:

• in the park on Akademik Vernadsky Boulevard.

In the Holosiiv district:

Lviv

In Lviv cherry blossoms usually begin to bloom in the last weeks of April. But this year, due to the high air temperature, the flowers on the trees appeared earlier. For example, several dozen sakura trees grow in the park named after Pope John Paul II near the Church of the Nativity of the Holy Virgin. Except of this place, you can admire Japanese cherries at the following locations:

• Chernivtsia street;
• Petrushevich Square;
• Alley on Horodotsky Street (near St. Anna’s Church);
• Mytna square;
• courtyard of the Lviv University of Trade and Economics (10 Tugan-Baranovskogo str.;
• Museum of Folk Architecture and Life Named after Cl. Sheptytskyi;
• Park of culture;
• Tyutyunnikiv street, 27;
• Heroiv Maidan street;
• intersection of Studentska and Zelena streets.

Season magnolia in Lviv has also already started and you can search for flowering trees:

• in the House of Frank;
• in the Botanical Garden of the Ivan Franko National University (44 Cheremshiny St. and 4 Kyryla and Methodia St.);
• in the park “Annunciation Garden”
• on Parkova Street;
• near the theater named after Maria Zankovetska.

Uzhhorod

Sakura in Uzhhorod they bloom for about two weeks and you can find them on almost every street in the city. The largest number of trees grows on the Kyiv and Pravoslavnaya embankments. And cherry blossoms are blooming on Freedom Avenue, donated to the city by the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine. Here are a few more places with blooms:

• Bryshchakiv street;
• Maria Zankovetska Street;
• north of Tomasz Masaryk;
• Slavic embankment;
• Oleksandr Dovzhenka Street.

Every spring, several species bloom in Uzhhorod magnolia. Trees bloom not only in the Uzhgorod Botshad, but also in the alleys and streets of the city. So magnolias can be seen:

• on Nebesnaya Hundred Street;
• on the territory of Zamkova Hill;
• in Pidhirnyi Lane;
• on the embankment of the Uzh River;
• next to the building of Zakarpattia Regional State Administration (Shevchenko St.).

Mukachevo

In Mukachevo, thanks to the warm climate, the flower season comes the fastest. The longest avenue cherry blossoms in Zakarpattia grows on Uzhhorodska Street. 252 trees were planted on it, and the length of the alley is 1371 meters. In addition to these locations, the trees bloom:

• on the alley on Margitycha Street;
• on Pryashivska Street
• near Mukachevo State University;
• in Rosvygovo microdistrict;
• on Karpenko-Karyo Street;
• on Jan Amos Komensky Street;
• in Victory Park.

Magnolias in Mukachevo bloomed earlier than cherry blossoms and you should look for them in the following places:

• on Cyril and Methodius Square;
• in Central Park;
• in Drahomanov Park;
• on Sviato-Mykhailivska street;
• in Andriy Kuzmenko Park;
• on Heroes’ Maidan Square;
• on Mykola Gogol street.

Dnipro

Enjoy the bloom cherry blossoms it is also possible in the Dnipro. To find Japanese cherries, go to:

• on the territory of the University of Railway Transport;
• to Naberezhna Peremohy street;
• on the alley near the monument to Yangel;
• in “Novokodatskyi” park;
• in Heroes’ Square next to Polya Avenue.

Magnolias in the Dnipro bloomed for almost a month before scheduled time. Therefore, it will be possible to admire them for about two weeks:

• on Assumption Square;
• in Priberezhny Park;
• in Heroes’ Park.

In addition to cherry blossoms and magnolias, in almost every Ukrainian city you will come across flowering bushes lilac. It usually begins to bloom in May and lasts for one to two months.
