“Why aren’t you at the front?”: DTEU teacher refused to teach the couple in Ukrainian

The teacher of the State University of Trade and Economics refused to switch to the Ukrainian language during the lecture after the students’ request. Instead, the teacher began to “send” students and their parents to the front and ask why they did not volunteer. The students published an audio recording of the incident on social networks, in particular on TikTok “KNTEUCHAN”. “Guys, you’re sitting at home and you’re still oppressing me here. They don’t like this, they don’t like that – from the first class. Guys, do you have a conscience? Are your parents at home with you? Which of your parents is in the trenches, tell me ? And why are you here, why not at the front? You are 18 years old. Why are you not in the volunteers, tell me? I have a question for you, I am a Russian speaker, I want to ask Ukrainian speakers – why are you sitting at home, why are your parents sitting at home ?”, sounds on the recording in Russian. @knteuchan Reply to user @КНТЕУЧАН ♬ original sound – KNTEUCHAN The administration of the capital university promptly reacted to the incident: on the official page of DTEU y Facebook it was reported that the teacher Nina Ivanchenko was fired. “DTEU takes a categorical position regarding the observance of language legislation, ensures the education of patriotism and consciousness of the youth of Ukraine.
