Wounded Veteran Care: How to Get Help

Educational courses for caregivers also conducted by regional departments of social protection of the population. You can find out whether such events are held in a certain region by calling the regional department. Contacts are at site Ministry of Social Policy.

To get prosthesis or other aids, an application should be submitted through the Central Administrative Office or the Social Security Administration in the region. More information about prosthetics is available in the “Legal Navigator” and on the Protez Hub website.

Relatives of wounded veterans can also use state services to support caregivers – “Care at home” and “Personal assistant”. Social service providers in each of the regions can be found on the website of the Ministry of Social Policy (map).

Also, a person who takes care of a wounded person and does not conduct this activity on a professional basis can expect to be appointed payments.

“Payments are possible if the veteran has the 1st group of disability or cannot move independently. And also if the caregiver and the injured person live together and are connected by common life. A veteran who received a disability as a result of a combat wound can issue pension“, – explained in the NGO “Princip”.

Mobile application for psychological support of veterans “Base” contains self-help exercises, mental health materialsuseful contacts.

Free psychological help for children and their parents from the “Voices of Children” foundation is available in 15 cities and through the support line (0 800 210 106).
