It is known that both women were treated at the Bulovka University Hospital. One of them was 4 months pregnant and planned to visit the medical facility for a routine check-up.
Doctors planned to operate on another patient, which is carried out during the treatment of uterine disease. It is noted that a similar surgical intervention can also be performed for the purpose of terminating a pregnancy.
It is known that both women were foreigners – they came from Asian countries.
They were confused and doctors operated on a healthy patient, who eventually lost her child. The cause of the error is currently being established.
Hospital employees who may be involved in the incident have been temporarily suspended from work.
According to the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic, an investigation is currently being conducted into the incident.
According to Health Minister Kamal Farhan, if medical negligence is proven, the hospital will pay compensation to the injured patient.
