Zelensky responded to a petition about the introduction of sex education in schools

Head of State Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to the petition on the introduction of mandatory sex education in the educational system. The document received almost 26,000 signatures. The President instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to work out the relevant proposals. The Government should inform him and the author of the document about the results of its consideration. The Constitution of Ukraine obliges me to act only on the basis, within the limits of authority and in the manner provided for by the Constitution and Laws of Ukraine,” wrote the Commander-in-Chief. It will be recalled that, according to the Ministry of Education and Culture, elements of sex education are included in compulsory subjects such as “Basics of Health”, “Biology”, “Civic Education” and in electives “I am my health – my life”, “Protection yourself from HIV”/”School against AIDS” and others.
