The famous American artist and sculptor Richard Serra died in New York at the age of 86. He is best known for his monumental works of iron and steel. His work has been awarded many prestigious awards, including the “Golden Lion” of the Venice Biennale.
Serra was born in 1938 in San Francisco. His mother came from a family of Jewish emigrants from Odessa, his father came to the United States from Spain and worked at the shipyards, where young Serra got acquainted with iron processing.
