A body was found in the mouth: in Florida, a 41-year-old woman died after being attacked by an alligator

In Florida, a 41-year-old woman died as a result of an alligator attack – the remains of her body were found in the mouth of a 4-meter-long reptile.
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as 41-year-old Sabrina Peckham, CNN and BBC reported.
The daughter of the deceased, Brona Dorris, said that Sabrina Peckham was homeless and lived in a wooded area not far from where the alligator attacked her.
According to the Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission, the alligator was humanely euthanized following the tragedy.

Police found the woman’s body on Sept. 22 after responding to a call in Largo in the Tampa Bay area.
Local resident Jamarcus Bullard was on his way to an interview when he spotted an alligator with what looked like a mannequin in its mouth. He called the police.
“It was the first time I’d ever seen an alligator in real life, so I thought it was pretty cool. But when I saw what was inside it, I thought, ‘What is this, a mannequin?’he said in comments to Fox 13.

A few days later, the police announced that they had identified the deceased. This is 41-year-old Sabrina Peckham, who lived in a camping site for the homeless.
The victim’s daughter believes that Sabrina may have been returning to her campsite when the alligator attacked from the water.
Brona Dorris has also denied some of the claims about her mother that have been circulating on social media.
“My mother did not “tease” the alligator, as some claim in comments to news agencies.
One way or another, no one deserves such a death.” wrote Dorris.
An investigation into Sabrina’s death is currently underway.
The family of the deceased opened a fundraiser to pay for the funeral, and has already received $11,000 in donations.
