A 12-year-old dog was found in an English village, which was considered missing for 7 years.
A patterdale terrier dog named Rose was lost in 2017 and lived in nature all these years, feeding near people.
The rescue of the animal was announced by the volunteer organization Lost Dog Recovery UK South on Facebook, writes CNN.
In November, volunteers were alerted to a small black dog running along the road near Crawley Down, a village in West Sussex.
Volunteers left some food for the animal, but did not try to take it anywhere. They assumed that it could be a local dog that was allowed to “walk on its own”.

Local residents said that the dog was “in good condition, fed and cared for”, but had been wandering near the village for many years.
Zoo rescuers established a feeding regime for the dog during the week. At first, the animal was observed using a camera.
It was noticeable on the records that the animal’s eyebrows and muzzle had turned gray, so it really was a respectable age.

On December 9, volunteers left a special “trap” with bait for the dog – warm fried chicken with pate was placed near the cage.
And it worked, because at night Rose came to the treats and “got caught”.

“Looking over her shoulder often, she slowly made her way inside the trap, stepped on the step and opened the door.
It’s clear that she was shocked and scared, but very gentle.”says Lost Dog Recovery UK South.

Thanks to the dog’s microchip, the rescuers learned that her name was Rose. She disappeared in March 2017, 24 hours after being taken into custody.
Rose was seen in the first 10 days after the disappearance, but then the tracks were lost.
“Although we’ll never know exactly when she settled in Crawley Down, we do know she’s finally safe. Now she won’t spend the rest of her life fighting for life in the cold and the pus.” – the message says.
The previous owners could not take the 12-year-old dog because they moved |
Volunteers contacted Rose’s previous owners, but they had already moved and “could no longer care for her”.
“They’re very happy that she’s safe and unharmed, and of course they’re upset that they can’t take her back.” – say the rescuers.
The old animal needs veterinary care and rehabilitation |
Since December 18, Rose has been cared for by the “Last Chance” animal shelter in the English town of Edenbridge.
According to the volunteers, the old dog needs veterinary care and rehabilitation.
Now the dog will be taken care of at the shelter “Last Chance Animal Rescue” |
We will remind, earlier in England they saved a dog that could not descend from the highest mountain.
