On May 3, Yehor and his mother went to the store to buy groceries and then came under Russian missile fire. “The debris hit the supermarket, where there were many people. The boy underwent several operations, during which the medics removed fragments of soft tissues and sewed up the wall of the bladder. On May 8, Yehor was transferred to the capital’s Okhmatdyt. At that time, the boy was complaining of pain in his right knee, where he got the umok. One of the fragments hit the boy’s knee. Yehor needed temporary immobilization of the limb with the help of a plaster cast, which he heroically wore for 2 weeks. The child was given a massive infusion to wash out the clots from the injured bladder faster. X-ray examinations were also performed to identify the remaining fragments. There were many of them: in the little finger, soft tissues of the lower leg, above the collarbone. But not all of them could be safely removed,” says pediatric surgeon Margarita Hajiyeva. The fragment of the Russian rocket did not miss the little finger. Later, a fragment was also removed from the little finger of his right hand. The child is currently undergoing rehabilitation in Kyiv. Egor dreams of returning to Kherson region and becoming a football player. On June 8, Egor celebrates his 7th anniversary. The boy wants to become a football player and is looking forward to the victory of Ukraine in order to return home.
