A 20-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Lutsk district was sentenced to 13 years in prison for the rape of a child.

The perpetrator was 18 years old when he raped a four-year-old girl in the school yard. It happened on the afternoon of May 26, 2022.
He was immediately arrested and taken into custody. First the court chose the suspect was remanded in custody for 60 days, later the term was extended.
According to the court’s decision, information about the offender will be entered into the Unified Register of Persons Convicted of Crimes against the Sexual Freedom and Sexual Inviolability of Minors.

In September 2023, the court started a new trial after an appeal against the verdict. Consideration of this case is still ongoing.
