A man who kidnapped a 4-year-old child and tried to rape her was sentenced in Kyiv region

In the Kyiv region, the court sentenced a local resident who kidnapped and tried to rape a 4-year-old girl.
The man was sentenced to 15 years in prison, the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office reports.
According to the investigation, in August 2020 in Boryspil, a man was in a sales hall at a gas station, where, in particular, a woman was with her young daughter.
While the woman was paying for the goods at the cash register, the man grabbed her daughter in his arms, took her to the street, put her in his car and drove off in an unknown direction, the prosecutor’s office added.

“He took the child to a field outside the settlement, where he committed sexual violence against her and tried to rape her“, – the law enforcement officers add.
The court found the resident of the region guilty of abduction of a minor child, sexual violence and attempted rape (part 2 of article 146, part 4 of article 153, part 3 of article 15, part 6 of article 152 of the Criminal Code).
In a comment to “UP. Life”, the spokeswoman of the Kyiv regional prosecutor’s office, Olena Kovaleva, said that the man, born in 1991, worked as an entrepreneur.
“After the abduction, the girl’s mother called the police. Less than an hour after the crime was committed, the man was arrested. He took her to an open area, to a field. He had no prior convictions.” – added the spokeswoman.
