On October 7, fishermen illegally caught 218 kg of fish in the Vinnytsia region and now have to pay a fine of almost 700,000 hryvnias.

This is reported by the Vinnytsia Fish Protection Patrol.

Violations were discovered by state patrol inspectors. They found out that despite the threat of fines, the fishermen were engaged in fishing with the help of a net tool – a trawl.

The event happened on a pond near the village of Uladivka of the Khmilnytskyi district.

Unscrupulous fishermen found 94 bream, 55 crucian carp, 31 carp, 22 crucian carp, 20 pike, 13 perch, 11 white carp, 13 perch, 2 silver crucian carp and 2 sun perch.

The total weight of illegally extracted aquatic biological resources was 218.3 kg. At the same time, the losses caused to the fishing industry amounted to UAH 693,719.

Four administrative protocols were drawn up against the culprits under Part 4 of Art. 85 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (gross violation of the Fishing Rules – fishing with the use of prohibited fishing gear).

We will remind, as early as 2021, fines for illegal fishing were increased tenfold. If the fee for catching one specimen of pike was UAH 340, now it is UAH 3,468.
