The verdict was passed by the Lychakiv District Court of Lviv, and it was made public on September 18. The attempt was unsuccessful. Now the police are working. I repeat. We don’t need Kuznetsov, but we won’t give it away just like that. For details, contact the GUR,” wrote Sadovy. However, in 2021, the Lviv City Council refused to hand over the remains of the Soviet spy-saboteur to the Russian Federation. After the attempt to steal the ashes of the UP, it became known from sources that the option of exchanging Kuznetsov’s ashes for Ukrainian prisoners of war is being considered. At the same time, historian Vakhtang Kipiani believes that it is not Kuznetsov, but an unidentified German officer, who is buried on the Hill of Glory in Lviv.
