In Zhytomyr, a wild boar was spotted in Shoduarivsk Park on April 19. He was reported to the emergency services, including the Animal Protection Center. Serhiy Bondar, director of the “Park” CP, told “Suspilno” in a comment that the wild boar will be caught in a cage-trap. He noted that the park employees informed about the “guest”. “My electrician worker, who lives on the embankment, called and sent photos. A wild boar appeared on the territory of the park. It is quite large, visually about 150 kg, the animal did not behave aggressively,” says Serhiy Bondar. Workers also do not advise getting close to the animal, because it can be dangerous. “If a wild boar reacts to you calmly when you approach it at a distance of 10-15 meters and nothing happens, this does not mean that after a minute it cannot rush towards a person and not cause him some damage. I really ask everyone, do not approach. This is a wild animal, after all, it was born and grew up in the wild,” says Serhiy Bondar. On April 20, specialists of the Baraniv Forest Farm tried to catch the animal. But it didn’t work, so there will be a second attempt. “With the help of a trap cage, baiting it with fodder and corn, we will try to catch it. After that, we will hold it for a while, observe it, the veterinarian will examine it. Maybe we will do a blood test to see if the animal is sick. After that, we will return it to the hunting grounds, in its natural environment,” said hunting expert Andriy Shatylo. At the same time, candidate of biological sciences Ivan Khomyak explains the appearance of such animals in cities with military actions. Due to significant destruction in the Kyiv region, many representatives of wildlife began to look for new homes and get closer to humans.
