An asteroid entered the Earth’s atmosphere and exploded – video

On the morning of February 13, an asteroid exploded over the English Channel and entered the Earth’s atmosphere. This is one of the few cases when the explosion of a cosmic body was predicted in advance.
The Telegraph writes about it.
Around 5:00 a.m. Kyiv time, asteroid Sar2667 entered the Earth’s airspace over the English Channel and exploded in the air.
The moment could be seen by people in the southern part of England, Wales and residents of the northern part of France.
Amateur astrophotographer Tom William reported on the size of the star on his Twitter.
“The size of the body is about 1 meter. It looked like the moon when it entered the Earth’s atmosphere”– wrote Williams.
The International Meteor Organization, a Belgian nonprofit, said the object came in about 4 km (2.5 miles) off the coast of France and created a “fireball” effect.
This is the seventh case in history when an “air explosion” could be predicted.
Before that, a similar phenomenon happened in November last year, when an asteroid entered the Earth’s atmosphere in the sky over Ontario, Canada.
