The former deputy minister of health is suspected of groundlessly registering a drug for the treatment of COVID-19, flu and colds. This was reported in the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office. As it became known to “Ukrainian Pravda. Life”, it is about Oleksandr Komarida, who was dismissed from the ministry on February 8, 2023. The former official is accused of violating the established order of state registration of medicinal products (Part 1 of Article 321-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Photo: SBU Exposadovets signed a decision recommending state registration of drugs, despite the presence of a conclusion of the authorized state body – the State Expert Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine that there are no grounds for state registration. As the Security Service of Ukraine explained, this is a foreign biologically active supplement (BAD) that requires additional research, but was actively used, in particular, for the treatment of COVID-19. “As a result of the suspect’s actions, the medicinal product was unreasonably entered into the State Register of Medicinal Products of Ukraine by the relevant order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine,” the agency says. Currently, the issue of choosing a preventive measure for the former official is being resolved.
