On August 8, combat medic Andriy Babinsky died in the Zaporizhzhia direction. Before the full-scale invasion, he was a public figure and organizer of the Megamarch in embroidered shirts. His friend Andrii Savchuk informed about the loss. He said that Andriy was a biochemist by profession, but a creator and inspirer at heart. He studied the antitumor effect of vitamin E (tocopherol). In 2019-2020, he tried himself in Denmark in the field of agribusiness. Later, he returned to Ukraine and engaged in private entrepreneurship. From the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the boy defended Ukraine as part of the Territorial Defense Forces. Acquired the profession of a combat medic. He fought in the Kharkiv Region and near Bakhmut, took part in the counteroffensive in the Zaporozhye direction. “Andrei was an exceptionally talented person. A reliable friend, always witty, sincere, smart, easy to get up to, purposeful. After all, from a march of a few people in 2008, the Megagrand March in Vyshyvankas grew to a multi-thousand-strong and iconic international event. Andrii loved and understood very much audiovisual arts, especially music. He sang very well, played musical instruments, took photographs on film. And he also cooked exceptionally well and was a wonderful storyteller,” recalls Andriy Savchuk. Andriy was a creative person. On August 8, his life was cut short: he came under artillery fire with enemy cluster munitions. Farewell to Andrii will take place on August 11, 2023 in his native Sokyryany in Chernivtsi region.
