In Odesa, a woman was bitten by a dog in her own yard

A 39-year-old Odessa woman died after being bitten by a dog in the village of Tabaki in Odesa region. The woman died from her injuries at the scene before the arrival of emergency medical personnel, according to the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odesa Region. As the law enforcement officers found out, on August 9, the woman came from the city to the village to feed her dogs. It is noted that all the animals were tied, except for the alabay. When medics and law enforcement arrived at the scene, the dog had to be neutralized. “In order to approach the victim, and in connection with the existence of a threat to the life and health of people, the law enforcement officers were forced to use standard firearms and neutralize the animal,” the police added. On the fact of the woman’s death, the investigators opened a criminal case marked “accident” (Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine on intentional murder). The police urged pet owners to take responsibility for keeping their pets, especially if they are dogs that belong to the list of dangerous breeds.
