“Fight – win”: how the digital version of Taras Shevchenko on Instagram supports Ukrainians

The Taras Shevchenko National Museum and the RAVATAR avatar creation service have created a page for the author of “Kobzar” on Instagram. Posts in it are created with the help of artificial intelligence.
On the account, you can find publications of copies of the artist’s paintings, as well as videos in which the digital incarnation of Taras Shevchenko reads his own poems and congratulates Ukrainians on the holidays.
Among the latest posts is a copy of the picture “Mezhihirskyi Spas”, which the artist drew with a pencil in 1846.

On the eve of the new year 2024, the digital version of the artist congratulated Ukrainians on the coming year, quoting his own poem: “Fight – you will overcome! God helps you!”.
As reported in the National Museum, the virtual image created with the help of a neural network accurately reproduces the appearance of Taras Shevchenko.
“At the intersection of cultural heritage and technological innovation, we create a digital space where Shevchenko’s wisdom transcends time, making the history of our rich culture not a relic of the past, but bringing it to life for future generations“, said Dmytro Stus, Director General of the Taras Shevchenko National Museum.
