For the safety of children, police officers – the Ministry of Internal Affairs will be on duty in schools

The police will be responsible for the safety of Ukrainian schoolchildren – they will be on duty in all educational institutions. The buildings will also be equipped with metal detectors and frames.
This was announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko.
“Schools in Ukraine are beginning to implement a set of measures to create a safe educational environment. Its basis should be a police officer who will serve in educational institutions and be responsible for the safety of children“, Klymenko notes.
He also said that specialists will be selected by competition. They will undergo a thorough check and medical examination. Specialized training is also waiting for them. Recruitment and selection of candidates will start soon.

“UP. Life” turned to the Ministry of Internal Affairs for details on how the selection will take place, but the agency replied that this information is not yet disclosed.
According to the ministry, access regime in schools will also be strengthened: metal detectors and frames will be installed there.
“And so far, 70% of educational institutions are equipped with alarm buttons and are under the protection of the security police“, the Minister of Internal Affairs adds.
