A woman has filed a wage discrimination lawsuit against Google for the first time since 2018. She said the company paid more to men despite their less experience.
In addition, according to the woman, she was denied a promotion allegedly in retaliation for her complaints.

The case was heard for a week. Google argued that Rowe had the same opportunities as her male colleagues.
She came into the job with 23 years of experience in financial services and technology, but was hired at a level eight job. The woman’s salary was about 750 thousand dollars a year.
But according to Rowe, men who joined the company at the same time as her, and who supposedly had less experience, were hired at the ninth level with salaries of more than $1 million a year.
A jury of eight jurors ruled that Google owes Roe $150,000 for “pain and suffering” because of the discrimination and another $1 million in compensatory damages.
