At the request of the Ukrainian military, the Roman Catholic bishops from Ukraine handed Pope Francis a flag embroidered with a call to prayer for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The banner with the words “Holy Father, pray for us. With faith and love” was created by craftsmen from the city of Znamyanka at the request of the soldiers of the 72nd OMB, Kirovohrad OVA reports.

This flag was handed over to the Roman Catholic bishops from Ukraine, Radoslav Zmitrovych and Oleksandr Yazlovetsky, in order to present it to the Pope. The bishops fulfilled this honorable mission during a personal meeting in the Vatican. Pope Francis thanked for the flag and assured that such a prayer would be heard“, the message says.

It should be noted that in April 2022, the flag of Ukraine was handed over to the pontiff from Buchi. During the general audience, he unrolled it and kissed it.
