In Kyiv, the winners of the All-Ukrainian essay contest “10 years of Euromaidan: how European values determined the path of Ukraine” were awarded.
142 works were submitted to the competition dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Revolution of Dignity and the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the EU and Ukraine, the organizers informed “UP. Life”.
The winners were:
• Shekuriye Ramazanova from Buchi;
• Vladyslav Satsyuk from Kyiv;
• Elizaveta Khorovska from Odesa.
Ukrainians aged 16-25 shared thoughts and visions of the events of the Revolution of Dignity in 2013-2014 and their impact on the European vision of Ukraine.
After the Organizing Committee evaluated the conformity of the works with the announced technical criteria of the competition, 88 works were admitted to participate in the creative competition. After that, the jury chose three winners.
“The history of Ukraine has developed in such a way that children and teenagers who came with their parents to the Maidan, today together with them defend Ukraine in a large-scale war unleashed by Russia, or work hard and study in order to restore and build the country together with them tomorrow to achieve full membership in the single European family.
This sequence was also at the heart of the participants’ key messages. And this is the basis of our common goal – a free, independent, European, democratic and flourishing Ukraine“, said Mrs. Katarina Maternova, Ambassador of the EU to Ukraine, who presented the awards.
One of the 12 members of the competition jury was the journalist and editor-in-chief of “Ukrainian Pravda” Sevgil Musaeva.
“For our publication, it is very important that the young generation of Ukrainians knows about the price of their country’s freedom and what started the Ukrainian resistance 10 years ago. It is important that they understand European values and the historical choice made in 2014.”– said the leader of the UP.
It is noted that according to the decision of the jury, all participants of the competition will receive prizes, the authors of 12 works from the short list will receive awards, and the essays of three laureates will be published in a special column “Ukrainian truth“.
We used to reportedthat Sevgil Musaeva and two other Ukrainian journalists became laureates of the Hans-Joachim Friedrichs Prize.
