A dead 15.8-meter fin whale was spotted on Fistral Beach in Newquay, Cornwall (UK).
The body of the animal was found by surfer Rob Barber from the Newquay Activity Center when he was checking the state of the ocean, writes The Telegraph.
Barber immediately reported the find to the relevant services.
“The whale was huge. It looked like he was bleeding from his tail, but we don’t know the cause of his death yet.”– he said.

Local residents have been warned not to approach the whale as its blood can be toxic.
“Finvals are quite rare, but they can be seen more and more often in the sea near our coast“, said Anthea Hawtrey-Collier, a wildlife fund marine research associate.
A team of marine pathologists from Cornwall has been given permission to carry out an autopsy on the animal at the site.
“The autopsy results will help us understand why this animal died, the state of our seas and how these whales feel in our waters“, Hawtrey-Collier added.
