In Great Britain, for the first time, a man was imprisoned, who sent a photo of his penis without consent. The picture was taken by a woman and an underage girl.

39-year-old Nicholas Hawkes will spend more than a year in prison, informs Crown Prosecution Service of Great Britain.

As the law enforcement officers found out, on February 9, Hawks sent photos of an erect penis to a 15-year-old girl and an adult woman on WhatsApp. The latter took screenshots and reported the man to the police on the same day.

During the trial at Southend Magistrates’ Court on February 12, the Englishman pleaded guilty to violating the article on cyber-flashing – “sending photos or videos of genitals to cause alarm, distress or humiliation”.

The court sentenced the man to 66 weeks of imprisonment: 52 for the crime of cyber-propaganda, and another 14 for violating the previous court decision.

“Similarly. just as criminals in real life are held accountable for their actions, so too are criminals who commit crimes online. You cannot hide from the law behind a screen.”said the deputy chief prosecutor for criminal justice in East Anglia.

It is known that last year the man was convicted of sexual acts with a minor child, after which he was entered into the register of sex offenders, where he will remain until 2033.

It is noted that the law on cyberflushing in Great Britain came into force on January 31, 2024.
