In Khmelnytskyi region, the court sentenced a man who accidentally strangled a woman during sex

A 31-year-old man who strangled his 41-year-old partner during sex was convicted in Starokostyantinov, Khmelnytskyi region.
He was found guilty of negligent homicide, according to the verdict of the Starokostyantyniv District Court.
According to the document, the incident occurred on November 28, 2021 in the basement of one of the city’s high-rise buildings.
It is known that at night the couple drank alcohol in the company of acquaintances, but closer to dawn they remained alone.

“During voluntary sexual intercourse, the man grabbed her by the neck and held her like that for at least a minute. With his actions, he broke the woman’s hyoid bone, after which the woman suffocated and died.” – says the court verdict.
The body of the deceased was found in the basement a week after the incident.
It is noted that at first the man was suspected of intentional murder, but due to a lack of evidence, he was found guilty of negligent homicide (Part 1, Article 119 of the Criminal Code).
The defendant was sentenced to five years in prison.
In addition, he must pay 300,000 hryvnias as moral compensation to the mother of the deceased and another 69,000 hryvnias for the examinations carried out.
