The Lviv Railway District Court sentenced the woman founder of the organization to 10 years in prison, and the two other pastors to 8 years each. They also have to pay 14 defrauded people more than 28 million hryvnias. In 2009, the Nigerian was accused of fraud and involvement in the illegal appropriation of citizens’ funds, and in 2011, the Prosecutor General’s Office completed the investigation. The law enforcement officers found out that during 2006-2008, the King’s Capital group of companies accepted high-interest contributions from the believers of the “Embassy of God” church, but in 2007 it stopped fulfilling debt obligations. Church leaders defrauded followers of 52 million hryvnias, and a total of 612 people were recognized as victims.
