In Mexico, a man was arrested who opened the emergency door of the plane and went out on its wing. Passengers believe that he saved them.
The incident happened last Thursday about three hours after the scheduled departure of the flight from Mexico City to Guatemala, the BBC and the Los Angeles Times reported.
The plane was stuck on the runway for several hours without air conditioning and water. The delay was due to maintenance issues.
One of the passengers decided to open the emergency door and went out on the wing. Because of this, the plane had to be replaced.

Although no one was injured, the man was handed over to the police.
Other passengers saw his act as a rescue. At least 77 of them wrote a joint statement expressing their support for the man.
“All passengers on flight CDMX – Guatemala AM 0672 state that the passenger on board who opened the emergency porthole acted for the protection of all, with the support of all, as the delay and lack of air created dangerous conditions for the health of the passengers. He saved our lives.” – said the passengers in a handwritten note.
It is not yet known whether the police have charged the man.
