In the first reading, the Verkhovna Rada approved draft law No. 5492, which allows spouses to divorce during the woman’s pregnancy and during the first year of the child’s life. This was reported by Inna Sovsun, the co-author of the draft law, People’s Deputy from the “Voice” party. According to her, the article of the law, which prohibits divorce during pregnancy or after the birth of a child, “forces to be in a relationship.” “It is very strange to hear that being forced to be in a relationship protects someone from someone else.
