In Russia, there is a new wave of canceling concerts by “uncomfortable” performers

Concerts by several performers at once, whose performances may be secretly considered undesirable, took place in several regions of Russia. The Concert Hall agency reported the cancellation of the big solo concert of the Louna group in Ryazan, scheduled for April 7, without specifying the reasons. The band’s April 8 concert in Tula has also been cancelled.
After the start of the war in Ukraine, Louna musicians declared their anti-war position. In 2022, Louna’s performances were canceled by the “Dobrofest”, “NashRockFest” and “Uletay” festivals.
The concerts of the singer Klava Koka (Klavdia Vysokova) on February 21 and April 8 have also been canceled in Tula. Klava Koka did not condemn the war in Ukraine, on the contrary, in Ukraine she is included in the sanctions lists. However, on February 14, Mediazona published Roskomnadzor documents with an analysis of one of the singer’s songs. Roskomnadzor experts, according to the documents, came to the conclusion that the song promotes drunkenness. It is not known whether the publication is related to the cancellation of the concerts.
In Rostov-on-Don and Krasnodar, comedian Alexander Revva’s concerts scheduled for February 15 and 16 were canceled. The organizers cited technical problems as the reason for the cancellation.
Revva, who also speaks under the pseudonym Artur Pirozhkov, expressed his condemnation of Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine. In the summer of 2022, “Komsomolskaya Pravda” published an interview with his father, Vladimir Revva, in which he accused his son of not performing concerts in his native Donetsk, but allegedly being friends with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, and participating “together with Meladze in the gathering, which opposed the special operation”. Revva the Terrible reported that his son’s anti-war stance was the cause of their quarrel. In response, Alexander Revva stated that he “doesn’t have a father and never had one”, since he left the family when he and his twin sister were 4 months old, and they don’t communicate.
- On July 7, 2022, the publication “Fontank” published a list of Russian musicians whose performances are undesirable in Russia due to their anti-war stance. Among them are the groups DDT, “Casta”, “Bi-2”, “Nogu svelo”, Anacondaz, IC3PEAK, “Krovostok”, Little Big, singers Zemfira, Monetochka, Grechka, Manizha, Louna, Dora, rappers Oxxxymiron, Face, Morgenstern , Legalize and other artists.
