In Kyiv, animal rights activists from the UAnimals organization appealed to the police because of the improper conditions of keeping monkeys in the “Zviropolis” contact zoo.

The animals live in a glass box among the decorations and do not have access to water, the organization reports.

They say that the monkeys are surrounded only by artificial ropes and dry wood.

When zoo visitors take videos or photos, the monkeys have nowhere to hide from the flashes, animal rights activists say.

“We learned from visitors that the animals are kept in terrible conditions.

UAnimals submitted a statement to the police with demands to check the conditions of keeping exotic animals in “Zviropolis”, the legality of their purchase and keeping”the organization reports.

Animal rights activists remind that wild animals have no place in contact zoos, where they suffer from improper conditions of keeping and captivity.

Earlier, we reported that lion cubs are used as “props” for photos at a zoo in the Kyiv region.
