In Khmelnytskyi region, a man must pay 80,000 hryvnias to his ex-wife for stealing their common son and not returning it for two years. The relevant decision was made by the district court, reports Zaxid.net. As it became known from the investigation materials, the man kidnapped the child in the summer of 2019 and did not return it to the mother for two and a half years. Although according to the order of the Novoushytsk RDA, the child had to stay with the mother. In court, the woman said that her ex-husband refused to return her son, so she was forced to go to court. Only in December 2021, the boy was forcibly handed over to the woman by state officials. Employees of the executive service and the service for children confirmed that the man was evading the execution of the court’s decision. Often during their visits the husband was not at home, or the boy was not there. Although the neighbors confirmed that the father lives with his son at this address. The man denied his guilt in court. The court found him guilty of violating Part 1 of Art. 382 of the Criminal Code (non-compliance with a court decision) and fined him UAH 17,000. The judge also partially satisfied the civil suit of the boy’s mother. The woman demanded to pay her 500,000 hryvnias in moral compensation, but the court reduced the amount to 80,000 hryvnias.
