In the Rivne region, a man who raped the daughter of his former roommate was sentenced to 7 years in prison. The girl said that he did such actions more than once.
As indicated in the court verdict, on July 6, 2023, around 01:00, the accused came to the house of a former roommate who lived with her underage daughter.
She let her husband in, but when she saw that he was intoxicated, she ran away, leaving the child alone at home, writes Zaxid.Net.
The man closed the front door from the inside of the house, and then went into the room where the girl was sleeping and lay down next to her.

“Without the victim’s consent, the accused committed acts of a sexual nature, related to oral penetration of the person’s body, raping her“, the court reported.
The accused does not admit his guilt. In court, he denied any sexual intercourse with a minor. He explained that he was drunk, so he fell asleep on the bed of a child with whom he has a parental relationship. But he “didn’t do anything illegal.”
However, the results of the forensic examination refute his words.
The victim, who studies in the eighth grade, said that the man used to live with her and her mother and helped them in the household. After drinking alcoholic beverages, he repeatedly caused scandals, and that is why she was afraid of him.
According to the girl, that night he “lay down next to her, pulled down his pants and stuffed his penis into her mouth.”
“She said she didn’t want to, wanted to break free, but he wouldn’t let her. He ordered her not to tell her mother about it. When the mother returned, the daughter told her everything. She noted that the accused did such actions with her more than once“, the court verdict says.
During the next court session, the victim provided the court with her own handwritten explanations, in which she indicated that everything she had said the day before was untrue, and that sexual relations had been initiated by her.
But later the child admitted that she wrote such a letter at the request and under the dictation of her mother, who did not want her former roommate to be put behind bars.
Also, during the court session, the child noted that her mother scolds her, forbids her to give a truthful testimony, said that she will not let her go home if she talks about the events that took place that night between her and “Uncle Vanya”.
The judge found the man guilty of a criminal offense against sexual freedom and sexual integrity of a person and rape (Part 3 of Article 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and sentenced him to imprisonment for seven years.
He must also pay 59,738 hryvnias in court fees to the state.
We will remind, in Poltava region, a man was sentenced to 15 years in prison for the rape of a minor girl. At the time of the crime, the victim was 12 years old.
